Highlights

• Universal UNIX and NetWork Access - ChameleonNFS/X is the only complete IntraNet desktop suite with applications for: Host Connectivity, E-Mail & Messaging, File & Printer Sharing, Internet Access, Workgroup Collaboration and Desktop Management.

Only ChameleonNFS/X provides a complete PC to UNIX connectivity solution for all three Windows platforms. It includes an NFS client and server; an X server; VT420, TN3270, and TN5250 emulators; NetManage's Policy Management Architecture; and more; for Windows 3.X, WIndows 95, and NT.

• Policy Management Architecture - Chameleon now includes PMA which provides a mechanism for controlling data and bandwidth on your network using a series of plug-ins.
• Go IntraNet Express Access - Go IntraNet is a menu selection in Chameleon applications that provides immediate access to other Chameleon applications and express logon to any IntraNet server. Go IntraNet automatically finds your pre-existing connection profiles and hotlists and makes them available from within any other application saving you time and making it easier to access data.
• ActiveX Architecture - NetManage's industry leading Active Controls are included with every copy of Chameleon. These controls for FTP, SMTP, HTTP, HTML, etc. provide a platform for building custom networking applications such as the Internet Viewer. ActiveX allows customers to build new networking applications quickly using the Microsoft development tools they already have for Visual Basic, C and C++.
• Offline Viewing - NetManage supports offline operation in more applications that any other product, including: WWW, Gopher, News, Mail and TN3270. Offline viewing means that documents can be saved locally and reviewed at a later time without being connected to a network.

HOST CONNECTIVITY

• Telnet VT340, VT420 - VT340 provides REGIS graphics while VT420 contains advanced VT emulation.
• TN3270, TN5250 - IBM terminal emulations provide access to mainframes and AS/400 systems.
• XoftWare - The X-server allows users to concurrently access and display Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or Windows NT and network-based UNIX applications. XoftWare is fully compliant with the X Windows System standard, X11R6 and offers full X Security support (xhost, Xauth, MAGIC-COOKIE) and an enhanced installation program. Serial ConneXion software has also been added for remote connectivity, allowing the user to run X clients over standard dial-up lines using either TektroniX Serial Xpress software or SLIP/PPP connections.

E-MAIL & MESSAGING

• IMAP4 Central Message Storage - IMAP4 allows a users inbox to remain on a central server so they donÆt have to download all their messages to read them. It also allows administrators to backup everyones email from a central computer. NetManage is one of the first vendors to sell an IMAP4 client.
• Web-Based E-Mail Messages - Users can now create rich text mail messages based on HTML. Text fonts and colors can be changed, graphics and hypertext can be inserted. Users can also connect to the network server from inside their e-mail messages.
• E-Mail Remote Address Book - The remote address book server allows any PC to become a server for shared address books. Department or corporate address books can be created and shared with all of the users of Chameleon e-mail.
• Phone-Tag, TagIT, Calendar/Scheduler - NetManage has the only set of specialty e-mail applications based on SMTP. These applications use NetManageÆs e-mail transport but allow phone messages, and memos to be sent or meetings to be scheduled.
• Visual Basic Based Scripting - NetManage has the only Windows-based front end for creating scripts that work across NetManage Telnet, TN3270, TN5250, Z-Mail Pro and FTP. Scripting allows users to automate complex tasks and data access quickly.

FILE & PRINTER SHARING

• FTP Directory Drag and Drop - By dragging a folder icon from the remote side of FTP to the local side you can copy all the files in a single directory with a single operation.
• Disk Replicator - The File & Disk Replicator program allows users to keep a PC hard drive synchronized with any other computer on the IntraNet or Internet.

FILE & PRINTER SHARING

• WWW Multi-media - Websurfer, NetManageÆs WWW client, support HTML3.0, Netscape Plug-ins, streaming inline video, Frames, Java, VRML and Cookies. WebSurfer also inlcudes plugins for Shockwave, Real Audio, inline video and VRML. In addition, NetManage has added extensions for software distribution.
• WWW Hotlist Folders - A folder list is provided for organizing and storing links to Web sites. Users can drag and drop pages into these lists and create categories of lists.

DESKTOP MANAGEMENT

• SNMP Agents - Chameleon provides desktop management using an industry standard SNMP agent along with PC MIBs for: hardware and software inventory, software distribution, software backup, DOS, Windows, workstation, and RMON.
